I don't think so. Ponting wanted Harbhajan out. And Kumble as a goodwill gesture even removed the Hogg "bastard" charge back, despite Hogg admitting he said it. If Ponting had returned the gesture by removing the "monkey" charge, it would have closed the whole matter and we could all have just enjoyed the cricket. Ray,

In my opinion, this 'fracas' was started by Indian captain Anil Kumble when he (emotionally) over-reacted to the 2nd test loss and branded Australia as "not playing in the spirit of the game". All that followed was bullshit, including the Harbhajan matter, which would have 'gone away' if India hadn't acted with such sour grapes over a few umpiring decisions. It's as simple as that and Roebuck is just making a meal (and a living) out of blowing it up and rambling on piously, like he always does. Cheers mate.
